The final stage of the World Cup clay target shooting tournament, due in Minsk September 25 through October 1, will feature Chairman of the Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation Andrei Geraschenko, an BCTSF official told Interfax-West.
“According to World Cup regulations, the host country is free to stand two shooters. We decided to stand just one participant – Geraschenko, who took part in two World Cup stages in Belgrade and Beijing, and representated Belarus at the Beijing Olympics,” the BCTSF said.
n September 30 Geraschenko will take part in a skeet shooting event, competing against Vincent Hancock (USA), who won an Olympic gold in Beijing, 2004 Olympic Champion Andrea Benelli of Italy, 2008 Olympic silver medalist Tore BROVOLD of Norway, 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Anthony TERRAS, France and 2007 world champion Georgios ACHILLEOS of Cyprus.
Chief of the Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation Andrei Geraschenko is a leader of Belarus’ skeet shooter squad. In May 2008 Geraschenko won the Federation Cup in Minsk, competing against participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania.
The final stage of the World Cup skeet shooting events will be held at 15:15 on September 30. The same day will see trap finals.
he entrance to all sporting events will be free for spectators, the federation said.
The World Cup clay target shooting finals will be held September 25 through October 1 at the Minsk-based Sporting Club at 193, Nezavisimiski Avenue, Building 2.
