The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) is holding Science Week on 20-25 January, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.

This week, several museums offer free admission, including the Museum of the NASB History, the archaeological exhibition of the NASB Institute of History, and the Museum of Ancient Belarusian Culture at the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language, and Literature. “During Science Week, scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences will open its doors to visitors. An application is required in order to book an excursion for a group. Renowned scientists and young researchers will meet with students and give lectures in schools, colleges, and universities,” the press service noted.

The Museum of the NASB History is also a cultural and educational institution. The museum occupies around 250m2 and displays more than 3,500 exhibits. The items illustrate the history of the establishment and development of science and various scientific fields in Belarus, activities and outstanding achievements of scientists, research institutions and institutes of the country, the establishment of scientific schools of humanities, natural, technical, and medical sciences, international scientific ties, and government control over the field of science.

Belarusian Science Day is marked on the last Sunday of January.
