On July 18, archaeological research began on the territory of the former Church.

The Church was located in the back yard of the current building of the Department of agriculture of the Svisloch district Executive Committee. According to the NAS, the Church was built in the 60s of the XVII century and was completely destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. It has never been restored.

A group of archaeologists from the Institute of history of national Academy of Sciences of Belarus work there, the head is a researcher Stanislav Jurecki. Archaeologists have already started their work, they’ve laid a trial seam (12 square meters) and currently they have excavated the alleged Foundation of the destroyed Church. There are some other interesting finds like human bones and old nails (also presumably belonging to the Church building).
The work will be conducted until July 23.
