IV Schorsy’stopical scientific readings took place in Novogrudok land

IV Shchorsy’s topical scientific readings «Private book collections. Past and Present» took place in the agrotown of Shchorsy on May 25.

At the beginning of the event the guests visited «Shchorsy Manor”, a former residence of a Belarusian, Lithuanian and Polish nobleman, writer and poet Joachim Chreptowicz. Then they had the opportunity to watch the play «The Adventures of Salomea Rusetskaya, the first female doctor from Novogrudok»

The participants of IV Shchorsy’s topical scientific readings were greeted by Marina Shabanovich, the Head of the Division of Ideology, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Novogrudok district executive committee and Oleg Marushko, the Chairman of Shchorsy village executive committee.

The participants of the event discussed the history and current status of private book collections in Grodno region, the peculiarities of the preservationof literary culture through the development of private book collections.

In the lobby of Schorsy centre of culture there were numerous exhibitions of private collections of Novogrudok citizens. There were exhibited books, dolls, postcards, envelopes, cards, badges, etc.
